Wednesday, 4th July
Wimbledon is on from 2-15 July and we simply love being in public places to watch sports events. There’s nothing quite like the buzzing atmosphere you experience when watching a game on a rooftop or on an outdoor big screen, surrounded by fellow supporters, sharing anxiety and joy – Pimm’s and strawberries & cream!
Here’s a short list of our favourite spots to watch Wimbledon:
Skylight, Tobacco Docks
What: Rooftop bar – will be screening all sports events this summer
Why: Why watch the games indoors if you can watch the games AND soak up the sun? Also – you can play pétanque or croquet if you get itchy feet between sets.
Eat & Drink: A variety of food & drinks options!
Bluebird Chelsea, Chelsea
What: Will be showing all the games in their courtyard
Why: Because it’s Bluebird Chelsea and the courtyard is very cosy and summery
Eat & Drink: Usual food & drinks menu + special 3-course menu for the finals
Pergola Paddington, Paddington
What: Watch the game from the hidden al fresco vine-tangled terrace of Paddington Pergola
Why: Because we love the looks and the vibes at Pergola Paddington
Eat & Drink: There’s a variety of drinks & food options to please everyone
Granary Square, King’s Cross
What: Watch the tournament from the canal side steps at Granary Square
Why: It’s super charming and completely different ANDthe canal side steps will make you feel like you’re in Murray Mound
Eat & Drink: There’s many bars & restaurants in the area including KERB street food market but Pimm’s and other drinks will be available from the pop-up Summer Love bar
Summer by the River, London Bridge
